Josephine Arendsen (20) studeert dit jaar af als ACTEUR aan de Toneelacademie Maastricht. 

Cinderella paste maar 1 schoen en Josephine heeft een inloopkast met schoenen.  Elke schoen voelt en vraagt wat anders. Van komische of beladen films, van jeugd of muziektheater tot fysiek of krachtig teksttoneel. Ze houdt van uitdagingen en beweegt zich met nieuwsgierigheid en plezier door elk verhaal. 

Zo is ze niet alleen een sensitieve, energieke en eigenzinnige speler, maar heeft ze ook een sterke fysieke aanwezigheid en een scherp gevoel voor timing, muzikaliteit en tekstbehandeling. Met haar aanstekelijke lichtheid, humor, zingt ze graag en maakt keuzes, maar schroomt niet om uit de bocht te vliegen.  Haar achtergrond in dans (tap, jazz, ballet, modern en afro) zorgt voor een grote 'fysicaliteit' op de vloer. Daarnaast is ze gedreven, vastberaden en geeft niet snel op.

Josephine speelde eerder in films en series als Mijn bijzonder rare week met Tess, Mijn beste vriendin Anne Frank, Een Grote Familie en Geestig. En is dit jaar te zien in diverse andere filmprojecten.  In het theater is ze momenteel te zien in WEIRDO van het HNTjong (regie: Loek de Bakker), waarmee ze tot 13 mei toert.

Josephine Arendsen (20) is graduating this year as an ACTOR from the Maastricht Theatre Academy. 

Cinderella only had one shoe that fit, but Josephine has a walk-in closet full of shoes.  Each role feels and demands something different. From comedic or intense films, from youth or musical theater to physical or powerful text-based theater. She loves challenges and navigates each story with curiosity and joy. 

Thus, she is not only a sensitive, energetic, and idiosyncratic performer but also possesses a strong physical presence and a keen sense of timing, musicality, and text interpretation. With her infectious lightness and humor, she loves to sing and make choices but doesn’t hesitate to go off the rails.  Her background in dance (tap, jazz, ballet, modern, and Afro) gives her a strong physical quality on stage. In addition, she is driven, determined, and doesn’t give up easily.

Josephine has previously appeared in films and series such as My Very Strange Week with Tess, My Best Friend Anne Frank, A Big Family, and Geestig. And this year she can be seen in various other film projects.  In theater, she is currently appearing in WEIRDO by HNTjong (directed by Loek de Bakker), with which she is touring until May 13.
