Ben Verwegen (Novo Hamburgo, 2001) is regisseur en theatermaker. Met zijn werk probeert hij zijn publiek in een verhaal of gedachtestroom mee te slepen door realiteit in fictie te verpakken.

Komisch in vorm, maar tragisch in inhoud: met personages die over het noodlot struikelen in hun zoektocht naar geluk.

In 2025 was Ben regieassistent van Eva Lemaire bij de voorstelling Tramlijn Begeerte. In zijn afstudeerjaar regisseerde hij onder meer de voorstellingen Closer en Slouching Towards Los Angeles.

Ben Verwegen (Novo Hamburgo, 2001) is a director and theatre maker. Through his work he hopes to draw his audience into a story or stream of thoughts by wrapping reality in fiction.

Comedic in frame, yet tragic in substance: with characters that stumble over fate in their quest for happiness.

Ben worked in 2025 as a director's assistant for Eva Lemaire, in the play A Streetcar Named Desire. During his graduation year he also directed Closer and Slouching Towards Los Angeles.
